Santa Claus Dabbing Autism is a Big No-No
The image of Santa Claus dabbing is not new. It has been in circulation for years. It has appeared on several different T-Shirts, as well as numerous other forms of print advertising. So it is not a new story or a trend. What is new is that there is an autistic child who was exposed to this image during a visit with Santa Claus.
I believe that if Santa Claus was exposing autistic children to an image of Santa Claus that he was inadvertently making a difference in their lives. If we can laugh at the jesting of the jester, then I think we can accept that Santa Claus could make a difference in many lives. Santa Claus does bring joy to many people’s lives and love to see children happy. One can take offense when thinking about the Santa Claus dabbing but I think that if we look deeper we will realize that it isn’t the jest that this gentleman had with our child.
It is important that we consider the impact that this image has on the autistic child. It is true that Santa Claus can make a difference in many lives. However, Autism does not need the jest and I believe that we can both agree that this was a terrible thing to have occur. Consider this in 2021.
